About us

Who we are

After 10 years of working together in a renowned façade planning company, we parted ways before joining forces again 8 years later to found our own company. Since June 2021, we have been on the move as equal owners of friedli.leu gmbh.

As a team we have a broad experience around the construction sector:

  • 30 years of facade planning in Switzerland and abroad
  • 10 years of practical working experience and project management in the execution
  • 7 years of project and technical management  for component suppliers including process optimisation tasks
  • and now 4 years in the own company

Located in the inspiring surrounding of the old brickwork factory in Oberwil, you will find our office in studio T 14. Guests and curious people are always welcome.

Martin Friedli (53)

Founder, Managing Director

After finishing business school in Bern, I started studying architecture at the EPFL, the technical university in the french part of Switzerland. However, the longer I studied, the more I lacked the practical connection to construction that I had hoped for. After 5 semesters I left Lausanne and went back to my home town to complete a shortened apprenticeship as a metal construction worker.

I first worked as a plant fitter for a specialized company called Messag in the Basel area before graduating from the Swiss School of Metal Construction Technicians in Basel and then starting as a project manager at Mevo Fenster AG. At that time I got to know the field of façade planning and successfully applied to Emmer Pfenninger Partner AG in Münchenstein in 2001, where I met Jeanette Leu. Over the next 19 years I gained valuable experience  in the planning of building envelopes in various countries and different cultural regions as a project manager and later as a member of the Management Board.

Since 1st of June 2021 I have been contributing all my knowledge and experience to the joint company in order to get one step closer to the goal of sustainable planning for resource-saving buildings.

Jeanette Leu (42)

Founder, Managing Director

At the age of 16, I decided to become a metal construction draughtswoman (now metal construction designer) and stayed in this profession, thus looking back on 20 years of experience as a designer today.

I started working for metal construction companies in the Basel area (Pfaff Metallbau AG, Stöcklin Metallbau AG) before joining a façade contractor in the French speaking part of Switzerland (Felix constructions SA) for one and a half years. Back in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, I was able to expand my knowledge at the façade planning office Emmer Pfenninger Partner AG, where I also met Martin Friedli. In 2013, after 10 years of façade planning, I moved back to the industry to work for the component supplier Stahlton Bauteile AG. There I came more and more in contact with questions and tasks related to process flows, one of the reasons for my latest training as a process manager.

Due to my various activities in the field of facade planning, at an executing company and at a supplier, I have gained a broad overview of the entire process chains during the various planning and execution phases of a project.

With our own company I am pushing since 1st of June 2021for a more meaningful, holistic construction.
